KRIEGSMARINE ARTILLERY BINOCULARS
Pair of 7 x 50 Carl Zeiss - Jena binoculars, covered with black-painted brown leather and marked with a Third Reich national eagle on the left barrel. This barrel is also marked "M", indicating use by the Kriegsmarine, and also "Artl.", for artillery, on the right barrel. The optics are graduated for use in artillery spotting. The serial number "1965596" also appears on the left barrel, indicating manufacture in 1939-1940. The binoculars are fitted with a leather neck strap with attached leather eyepiece cover, and are housed in a black leather case. Also present are several extra eyepieces fitted with different colored filters, for different atmospheric conditions. The binoculars show notable wear to the leather covering, exposing the brown leather beneath, but the optics remain clear. The case is well-worn and is missing its carrying strap, else very good.
