WEHRMACHT PHOTO ALBUMS
Good group of ten photo albums compiled by German soldiers during World War II, including the Eastern Front album of a particular Heer soldier, with an original color sketch of him in uniform affixed to the inside cover. This album contains approx. 125 2 1/2" x 4" snapshots, depicting the soldier's training in Germany and his deployment to Russia, where he photographs artillery bombarding the enemy, wrecked Russian aircraft, Russian prisoners, advancing German tanks, and much else. The remaining albums feature hundreds of photographs depicting a wide variety of subjects, including RAD and Hitler Youth workers, group views of soldiers in uniform, peacetime views of civilian life, travel shots of Germany and other European nations, destroyed towns in the aftermath of battle, soldier's graves, destroyed enemy equipment, and occasional documents such as award certificates and identity papers. All are worthy of further examination and research.
