Two Chinese silver parcel gilt nail protectors, late Qing Dynasty, each inlaid with seed pearl clusters, marker's marks, 10cm long (2) Court women in the Forbidden City grew extremely long fingernails, and wore embellished nail guards on the little fingers and ring fingers.
