17th century AD. An iron tool comprising a flat-section shank with T-shaped head and rectangular blade; the head splayed for striking, the blade tapering in section; maker's mark to one face. 25 grams, 11.5cm (4 1/2"). Found on the Thames foreshore near Queenhithe Dock in the early 1980s. [No Reserve]
