ENOLA GAY: Multiple signed colour 10 x 8 photograph by four crew members of the Enola Gay individually, comprising Paul W. Tibbets (1915-2007, American Brigadier General, pilot of the Enola Gay), Theodore Van Kirk (1921-2014, American Major, navigator of the Enola Gay), Morris R. Jeppson (1922-2010, American Second Lieutenant, assistant weaponeer of the Enola Gay) and Richard Nelson (1927-2003, American Private First Class, radio operator of the Enola Gay), the historic image depicting the crew, on the runway, having just returned from the dropping of the Little Boy atomic bomb by the B-29 bomber Enola Gay on 6th August 1945 during the final stages of World War II. Signed by each in blue and red inks, to clear areas of the image, Tibbets adding 'Pilot to Hiroshima 6 Aug 1945' in his hand beneath his signature, Van Kirk adding 'Navigator - Enola Gay 6 Aug 1945' in his hand beneath his signature, Jeppson adding 'Weapon Test Officer Enola Gay Mission' in his hand beneath his signature and Richard Nelson adding 'Radio' in his hand beneath his signature.
