Description
Blue finished rifled barrels in circa 10mm calibre grooved and filleted and decorated with lozenges at the muzzle and gold inlay at the breech; locks and mounts present a grey finish and are engraved with vine sprays and scrollwork enclosed and framed in gold filleting; adjustable foresights; locks decorated en suite and signed in gold characters "MANUFACTURE LIEGEOISE D'ARMES A FEU"; superb ebony stocks magisterially carved with foliage, flowers and swirls; butts are exceptionally made in gilt and chased blued steel. The weapons are conserved in a ebony veneered case (Dim. 53 x 30cm) with a central plaque bearing the Calzada family coat-of-arms, a noble family with origins in Bologna and Spain, borders and linear motifs at the edges, velvet and turquoise silk lining and the case contains the following ebony accessories which are carved and chiselled with linear motifs: cleaning ramrods; turnscrews nipple wrench, bullet mould, oiler, ladle, powder flask, mallet and primer case. Overall of high quality and in excellent condition, probably made to demonstrate the skill of this new production on the market._x0000_ L. 42 cm.
