Description
A CASED PAIR OF ENGRAVED BELGIAN PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS, MID 19TH CENTURY, eight inch damascus barrels marked with Liege proof, "ELG," with floral engraving on stepped plates and carved and fluted walnut half stocks and grips, with period correct loading accessories including powder flask, ball mold, percussion cap container, ball starter, cleaning brush, and rod, in original veneered burr walnut case, overall: 3 1/2" x 17 1/2" x 10 1/2". Provenance: Collection of Dana Brown, Houston, Texas.
Condition
There is some wear and handling on the metal plates and engraving. The fluted carving on the grips appears crisp. The accessories and case also show signs of wear. The case has some scratches and small cracks in the veneer.
