CHINESE YONGZHENG SACRED HORSES PORCELAIN VASE, having eight horses, seven blue and one white, from the "Sacred Horses of Muwang (or Wang Mu)" Chinese historical romance tale, each intricately detailed and painted; applied fu dog handles on opposite sides of shoulder; with white crackle glaze. Impressed Yongzheng (1723-1735) mark on base. 1723-1735. 10 1/4" H.
Excellent undamaged condition.
Provenance: From the Estate of Joseph D. and Catherine Burgess Creveling, Scarsdale, NY.
First purchased by Joseph D. and Catherine Burgess Creveling circa 1930 while traveling in Asia, and they were told it was an antique at the time.
