Later edition of the first indigenous Mexican cookbook. The first edition appeared in Mexico in 1831 according to Socorro Puig and Maria Stoopen's "Historia de la Cocina Mexicana a traves de sus Publicaciones," who cite nine editions between 1831 and 1893, each of which was apparently revised and augmented from the earlier editions. Though the present example is stated "Segunda Edicion" on the title page, Palau (30457) lists an edition published in Mexico in 1853. OCLC/WorldCat lists only three copies of this 1854 edition, at the University of Arizona, the University of California Berkeley, and Texas A&M.
