Description
Reticulated and chased parcel-gilt censer with suspension chains and cap by unidentified maker, with hallmarks for Mexico City, early 19th century; the rim of the cover inscribed "Haca. De Sto. Anto.;" 8 3/4 in. H., excluding chain and suspension cap; 39.38 ozt. including a copper liner, .900 fine
Condition
A Hacienda of San Antonio exists in Colima, with a chapel built to commemorate the town's providential escape from a volcanic eruption.
