"THE TEMPTATIONS" LYRICS AND EPHEMERA GROUPING
Good lot of material concerning the Motown group The Temptations, specifically from bass singer Melvin Franklin or "Blue" (born David Melvin English) who was with the group from its inception in 1960 until just before his death in 1995. Included in the lot is: a full page of lyrics for the song "January", written by Franklin and signed: "Williams-English-Woodson" at top, three verses and apparently never recorded; a prayer for peace written by him in 1990 and initialed "D.M.E." at bottom; and five musical scores (for three trombones and two trumpets), each 4pp., for the Temptations' song "What Do you Need". A nice grouping of original material from a founder of the Temps!
