A large grouping of "Publicity Clock Co. Inc., New York" ephemera and projector parts. The brass parts include the clockworks for the projectors, many unused and in the original boxes - the frames of the projectors are missing. Parts include: 7 original boxed clockwork gears and springs with 2 attached mechanisms to metal frame; 6 clockwork gears and springs with 2 attached mechanisms to metal frame not in original boxes; 5 original boxed clockwork gears with only 1 mechanism attached to metal frame; 11 original boxed clockwork mechanisms not attached to metal frame; 11 clockwork gears/springs not attached to metal frame and without boxes; and a large grouping of miscellaneous projector parts most seem to have been previous used. Also included are boxes of Bausch & Lomb glass slides with advertisements that fit into the dial of the clock face that would be projected onto the screen via the clockworks that we described earlier. Ephemera includes a large amount of paper advertising for the Publicity Clock Company, 1000's of unused advertising cards and paper material (see photos for more details). Also included are company papers and several hand drawn illustrations for projectors in gouache and pencil.As liveauctioneers only allows 20 photos per lot, we have created lot number 270B which has an additional 20 photos that are included in the sale of this lot. Note - The Publicity Clock Company, an advertising firm in New York City from around 1915 to at least 1930, placed advertisements in local movie theaters by means of the Publicity Clock, a device that projected the image of a working clock face with a repeating sequence of advertisements displayed within the dial.
