MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. ANTI-WAR POSTER
Original black and white poster, 11" x 17", released by the National Peace Action Coalition, advertising a series of anti-war marches to be held in honor of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. in April of 1969. The poster depicts King speaking in academic robes at a college commencement, with a quote taken from his April 15, 1967 address at the "Mobilization to End the War in Vietnam" protest in New York: "...this widened war has narrowed domestic welfare programs, making the poor, white and Negro bear the burdens both at the front and at home..." The poster announces: "Honor His Memory - April 2, 3, 4 - Stop the War Now!", and further advertises an April 24 march on Washington and San Francisco. The poster bears a stamp indicating that it was printed by Allied Printing of Washington, D.C. The poster shows some irregular toning at the top edge, with slight chipping at the lower right corner, else very good.
