6TH PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE OF ODD FELLOW IN REGALIA: Hand gilded daguerreotype depicting a young man in full Odd Fellow Regalia. He proudly wears the gold fringed, floral embroidered mantle with a rosette over his shoulders; around his waist, he wears a white, gold fringed apron exhibiting three interlocking circles, sixth-plate 3.125"h x 2.75"w. The Odd Fellows were originally founded in England in 1745 as a charitable organization and in 1819 the American branch was organized in Baltimore.
Condition
The image is fine and in focus, the leather over wood case is without a cover and in delicate condition.
