Description
Jeremiah Mosher (1755-1830) General. Mosher was a Brigadier General during the Revolutionary War and served under General Benedict Arnold at the storming of Quebec in 1775. He also was one of the “Minute Men” who participated in the battle of Lexington and was encamped with Washington at Valley Forge in 1778. 6 ½” x 8 ¼” autograph letter signed, Lancaster, May 23, 1779, to Colonel Henry Jackson, Rhode Island . “…I are on the recovering way and expect that I shall be able soon to set out for camp…I am with the greatest respect Your most Humble Servt. Jeremiah Mosher a Soldier….” Addressed by Mosher on the reverse, irregularly torn when opened resulting in paper-loss in the lower left margin, not touching the text.
