Description
Pairpoint Manufacturing Company (American, founded 1880), late19th century. A fine Aesthetic period quadruple plated silver tazza or compote having a circular rim engraved with panels of flowers and birds and centered by a large raised beetle or scarab supported by a pierced, decorated base with berried laurel, bamboo and birds and terminating on four stylized feet. The underside marked "PAIRPOINT MFG CO" also with classic Pairpoint "P"stamped inside a diamond and numbered "1410". Approximate height 6", diameter 8.25". Provenance: From the Estate of Liz Howell Bloodworth, Atlanta, Georgia.
