English or American, 20th century. A gilt brass Aesthetic Movement fire screen, having a pierced outer frame, the inner frame with a scrolled and foliated motif, inset with a needlepoint panel, on ball and claw feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 43", width 29.75", depth 10.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Susan E. Yeomans of S. Battery, Charleston, South Carolina (a descendant of former Governor of South Carolina Ibra C. Blackwood and his wife, Margaret Hodges; former President of the United States of America, Grover Cleveland; and former Governor of South Carolina, Carroll Ashmore Campbell Jr.).
