A collection of two figural drawings by Romanian-American film director and screenwriter Jean Negulesco (Romanian / American, 1900-1993), comprising "Shelly Please!"-circa 1953 ink on paper, signed to lower left "Negulesco", inscribed to lower right "To Shelly Please! 57 Jean", abstract figural ink drawing or sketch depicting a crouching figure with fingers intertwined at her lap; and "Tony Please!"-circa 1953, ink on paper, signed and dated to lower left "Negulesco 53", inscribed to lower right "To Tony Please! Jean 1957", abstract figural ink drawing or sketch depicting a seated and hooded figure. Each framed approximately 31.25" x 21.25".Each sight approximately 29.5" x 19.5". Note: Jean Negulesco (Romanian / American, 1900-1993) was an American film director and screenwriter of Romanian descent. This pair of works is said to have been originally gifted by the artist to his friend, actress Shelly Winters (American, 1920-2006) and her then-husband Anthony "Tony" Franciosa (American, 1928-2006) the year they were married. Winters was cast in Negulesco's 1952 film 'Phone Call from a Stranger'.
