Description
Attributed to Eero Saarinen (American, born Finland, 1910-1961) for Knoll (American, founded 1938), designed 1957, circa 1960s. A Tulip dining table from the Pedestal Collection, having an oval form white marble top on a painted white cast aluminum pedestal base. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 28.5", width 77.75", depth 48". Provenance: Property from the Estate of a Gentleman in Macon, Georgia.
Condition
Table top with scattered discolorations and adhesive residue; would benefit from cleaning. Tabletop with scattered surface abrasions and scuffs. Tabletop with inlaid pyrite to original flaws in slab; original to piece. Minor chips and nicks to tabletop perimeter; commensurate with age and material. Wood mount (connecting leg to tabletop) with discoloration and minor warping; possible moisture exposure. Tulip leg and base with oxidation (rust), grime and possible mold spores; would benefit from professional cleaning.
