This masterful and massive 181 page reference work is considered the “Bible” for collectors of Paul Revere’s engravings. This is the First Edition, published by the American Antiquarian Society in 1954, measuring 12.5” x 9.5,” with 77 plates including large fold outs, some in color. All then known existing Engravings by Paul Revere, Jr. are illustrated and/or described. The history of Revere and his engravings is magnificently detailed, from the print of “The Boston Massacre” to his engraved Colonial Bond and Paper Money Notes, and so much more! Out of print for decades and a very important historical work, this First Edition book is always in great demand. The contents of this copy are in Extremely Fine condition, with no defects seen, no dust jacket. The edges of the navy blue cloth covers show just slight scuffing from use. A highly valuable reference for anyone interested in Paul Revere’s work as an engraver.
