"Dear Son, -- I am very glad to hear from you. I went for a visit for a couple of weeks, and just arrived at home and they I found a pile of letters from all different people. So this what delayed me in replying soon.

I think it is great honor too for me, to be handed a silver cup, which was given to me by you, at Baltimore. The cup I took it to our mid winter fair, and the people think it a pleasure to see such a cup as it. I am telling my people about the Iron Horse Fair and they sure think they could be there during the fair because it was a great event. It is just three days now since we had a fine day, and we are all getting ready for our spring work now, that is our farming. Now I am send a picture mine which you will receive one from Mr. Grimm, and I think you will sure appreciate it, and not only that, it would be just like that you and I will be together. Those pictures I think pretty near every Indian here on my reservation has one, and in fact all over the state. Now I want you to go to some studio and have your picture taken with your father together. -- Now my son we are all very well in my family. -- My son I will close my letter with all my best wishes, and regards and I'm sending you good luck for the rest of you live. -- I am yours sincere Father"
Two Guns White Calf (1872-1934) was a Blackfoot Indian Chief who claimed to be the model for the Buffalo Nickel after receiving one from a tourist in Glacier National Park. He spent the final twenty years of his life living off said fame becoming a fixture at the park. Historians now generally agree that there were actually three models that formed the composite for the nickel, none of which were Two Guns White Calf. Nonetheless, his visage has now become iconic in the American memory.
