Lens tube unmarked, lens rims signed: "Jamin … Darlot … Paris 1862", focal length approx. 15 cm, height of the lens with hood 4 1/3 in., Ø 2 1/3 in., rack-and-pinion focusing (complete and working), glass elements very clean, connecting ring Ø 3 1/6 in., brass cap. Presumably an export lens or for a retailer. Early version without diaphragm. – Literature: Corrado D'Agostini, "Photographic Lenses of the 1800's in France", p. 126.
