FREUD SIGMUND: (1856-1939) Austrian Neurologist, the founder of psychoanalysis. A good original bold graphite pencil drawing of Freud by an accomplished amateur artist on a large 4to sheet of artist’s paper, n.p., n.d. (1930s). The artist has depicted the bespectacled Freud in a head and shoulders pose, adding his signature (‘Major’) in bold pencil at the base of the drawing. Signed (‘Sigm. Freud’) by Freud in bold pencil with his name alone to a clear area beneath his image. An unusual and appealing signed portrait. With a few minor tears to the edges, neatly repaired to the verso, and with the lower edge slightly irregularly torn, not affecting the image or signature, G
