A Trompe-L'oeil with Seventeen Drawings of Viennese Monuments.
Pen and brown ink, bodycolor heightened with white on blue paper.
Signed, inscribed and dated "Wigand / Faden nur zu seinem lei / chentuche / sind die Studen die / der Mensch verlebt / MDCCCXXII (The hours that men live are like the threads to their shrouds).
Vienna, 1832.
