Description
WWII period bifold wallet made from Camel cigarette packs and wrappers. The wallet has a photo insert sleeve with three photos, and a silk embroidered handkerchief in the billfold. The kerchief embroidery is of a US and British flags with crossed staffs behind a shield with a double cross and the words "To My Dear Mother" below. Subjects of the photos are a soldier in battle dress, a pontoon bridge over a river, and a mid 1940s sedan. The back of the soldier photo is stamped "Passed by US Amy Examiner," with "Not for Publication. Front Line. Luxembourg Dec 14, 1944" is hand written below the stamp. Hand writing on the back of the river photo reads "Rhine River." The wallet appears unique and is in good to very good condition.
