Description
This is an original authentic Cheyenne Native American Indian stretched rawhide War Drum from circa 1890-1910. The Late-19th Century Indian Wars period piece features a geometric mineral painted design in black, red and green on both sides. The drum shows an excellent Indian tanned Buffalo hide that had been skinned, wetted, and stretched. The hide is over a bent wood plank with sinew sewn supports. The museum quality artifact is in excellent condition and displays wonderfully. Provenance: From the personal collection of renowned collector and foremost expert on war clubs and tomahawks, Mark Francis. The Francis collection piece has been authenticated and is truly a museum quality important artifact. Drum measures 19” in diameter and 4.75"D.
