William Henry Harrison (1773-1841), Ninth President of the United States. Died one month after taking office. Harrison writes a Mr. P. Benson, in part: "I enclose you a letter from Messrs Lane Lovel & Co in New Orleans informing me that they had deposited in the Branch Bank of N. Orleans $139 73/100 to the Cr. of your Bank for my use. These gentlemen misunderstood my directions. I wished to get the money here & I want to pay a part of the draft in yr. favor..." Signed W.H. Harrison at the close.
