Item Details
Description
Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, La Tolita/Tumaco, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A pair of ancient pottery stamps, each incised with an intricately detailed abstract anthropomorphic figure, squatting with upraised arms as if engaged in a dance or orant gesture. Utterly charming! Given their flat profiles, these pottery stamps were most likely used to decorate textiles rather than human limbs. Size: larger measures 3.75" L x 3.5" W (9.5 cm x 8.9 cm)
