Description
A lovely Egyptian turquoise faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite wig and false beard, arms folded at chest, holding a hoe in each hand, basket over left shoulder and two vertical columns of hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs. H: 4 ½ in (11.6cm). Well-preserved with nice style and vibrant color. A more unusual type with the inscription separated into two vertical columns. Ex Essex, UK private collection.
