Description
Original Watercolor Venice Canal by Enzo Pregno (Italy, 1898-1972). Measures 24"x30"x1". Weight is 3 pds 21 oz. Watercolor in very good condition. Needs to be reframed. PROVENANCE: The Estate of a Charleston SC Art Dealer / Gallery Owner. Born of Italian parents in Cairo, Egypt, he returned to Italy as a boy. After fighting in the first World War, he settled in Florence. Self-taught, he began to be known in the 1920s for his watercolors of Florence. He was in Paris, France between 1929 and 1934 where he met Pablo Picasso and Oscar Kokoschka, who visited him in Florence. He worked as a laborer, decorator, designer, restorer and ceramicist, before devoting himself to painting full time. His first exhibition was in 1942, organized by the Galleria Il Ponte in Florence. His works are conserved and in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art Gallery in Florence.

should be reframed. Frame has no glass, mat bent. Watercolor very good
