Swamped round smoothbore barrel of heavy construction, integral rear sight and indistinct maker's marks near breech. Rounded flintlock lockplate with traces of East India Company rampant lion stamped in center, reinforced cock, and double line border. Four sheet brass capucines secure barrel and stock. Full length walnut stock with relief carved scroll panels on each side of narrow butt, of typical Afghani form. Carved scroll panel is opposite the lock and around the barrel tang. Steel trigger with brass ball finial. Good condition, barrel retains a light grey patina with scattered darker spots. Lock retains a pitted dark brown patina. Stock good, some wear to carving, minor losses at muzzle, and scattered marks from use.
