Description
Built by Austin T. Freeman referred to as the Army Model Revolver, manufactured 1863-1864 at the Hoard's Armory in Watertown, NY. These unusual and rare Civil War revolvers featured recessed nipples and a six shot round cylinder, solid frame, small Remington type blade sight, walnut grips, blued finished with case colored lever and hammer. This revolver features a two piece walnut grip and retains generous amount of original factory high polish blue finish with case colors on the hammer. The barrel is a mix of blue brown patina, lever colors have patterned out, the rear portion of frame retains approx 85% bright factory blue, 50% bright blue on cylinder, trigger guard and straps are soft brown patina. Razor sharp legends, grips are excellent with a few usual dings. Actions perfect, bright near mint bore. Trigger guard is number 902, lever numbered 907, obvious factory error.
