Description
This no. 2 grade was manufactured in 1906. It features auto ejectors, fluid steel barrels, solid matted rib with single bead, pewter line, Hunter, New York barrel address and sideplate action. All matching numbers. It is engraved, and this engraving can be found on page 179 in the "L.C. Smith" book by Houchins. Left panel scene has partridge, right has duck. Sports pistol grip checkered walnut stock and a solid red Noshoc retro pad has been added. Wood has beautiful grain, original finish, proud to metal with no gaps, cracks or chips. Sharp checkering. Frame case colors have faded to a grey patina. 50% original blue on trigger guard. Mirror bores, tight as new action. Barrels retain 100% of the expertly reapplied rust blue finish with razor sharp legends. Has a splinter forend with sharp checkering. Single select trigger. Beautiful, early graded L.C.
