Description
Initialed by owner and painted red on the exterior. This combination of a compass, sundial, and elevation tool is a rare example. Made out of wood with manuscript drawing compass on laid paper and set under glass. The compass needle is present behind the glass but is detached from the center stem. There is additional wear from being used in the past. The colors are still vibrant and condition is overall good. It folds to be carried and then can be clasped open for use. It measures 4-7/8 inches long, 3-3/8 inches wide, and 1-¼ inches thick when closed.
