War of 1812 American Naval Staffordshire Pottery Pitcher "Decator" and "Lawrence. 'Don't surrender the ship!'"
c. 1815 War of 1812 Period, Transfer-Decorated Staffordshire Smaller Size Pottery Pitcher, Navy Captains (Stephen) "Decator" [sic] and (James) "Lawrence. 'Don't surrender the ship!'" Extremely Fine.
This beautiful historic War of 1812 Small Staffordshire Pitcher measures 4.5” tall and 2.75” diameter at its base, with decorative black trim. The transfers are captioned: "Decator" [sic] and "Lawrence. 'Don't surrender the ship!'" Light wear to Lawrence transfer as shown; else a clean and bright example with no restoration or repairs. An excellent War of 1812 specimen. Very scarce.
