A Chinese Gilt Bronze Shakyamuni Buddha
Marks: (spurious Yongle marks)
8-7/8 inches high (22.5 cm)
The seated figure with coiled hair, elongated earlobes and gentle, downward looking expression sitting in a dhyanasana pose and holing a lotus blossom, with spurious marks to reverse indicating this is a contemporary vintage example.
Note: This piece is a contemporary copy of a 15th century Shakyamuni and bears false marks from that period.
