This massive pair of Petrified Wood bookends was cut and polished from colorful "rainbow" wood from Arizona which happens to be an amazing 200 million years old! This example is as functional as it is very beautiful and is sure to hold up even the largest of books. Only a fraction of all Petrified Wood is suitable for cutting and polishing, so pieces that have size and colorful are a treasure indeed. This tall pair is quite symmetrical and exhibit bold colors. The vibrant stunning pair display only minor nicks on the periphery. This example of ancient pine, which is also the State Fossil of Arizona, is a great piece of classic material.
