Description
Rare and possibly one of a kind Boehm porcelain plaque commemorating the 1987 opening of the Boehm Porcelain Art Exhibit at The Pavilion for The Management and Protection of Nature in Moscow by Madame Raisa Gorbachev. The exhibit was arranged with the help of Dr. Armand Hammer and the U.S. State Department. This plaque commemorates the Bald Eagle sculpture given to the people of Russia by the people of the United States. The sculpture was placed in the permanent collection of the Hermitage Museum Leningrad. The plaque was originally mounted on a red plastic material and was removed with a knife, leaving some red material glued to the verso of plaque. The oval plaque measures 4.375" X 6.375".
