Description
G.L. Ashworth & Bros (English, 1862-1968), late 19th century. A group of 35 pieces of ironstone dinnerware, including 17 dinner plates, 13 rimmed soup bowls, and five dessert or salad plates. Each decorated in a chinoiserie or Imari motif with turquoise and orange flowers in a blue vase, with a dark blue border accented with pink and green flowers. All stamped with manufacturer's mark to underside, and some with painted numbers 5304. Approximate height (of rimmed soup bowl) 1.625", diameter 10.25".
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. All with crazing, fleabites, staining, glaze pops, pitting and accrections. Several with repaired and unrepaired chips. Enamel losses and scratching overall. One plate broken in half and reglued. Some deep scratches. Transfer decoration has lifted in spots, and has adhered in other spots. All very dirty and could benefit from cleaning.
