Description
Cheyenne by Dean Chapman (1937 - 2001) after Albert Bierstadt, 24" x 48" oil on board in new 3 5/8" gold ribbed frame. Dean Chapman was active/lived in Georgia. Dean Chapman is known for western genre, cowboy paintings. Dean called himself a half-breed, because he was half Creek and half Choctaw. He was a very talented native American artist. This painting is a Bierstadt subject, but with all the flavor only Dean could show. His signature is typical of some tricks he used with his name, where he combined the M and the A in his last name when he signed it.
