Description
A very fine Qing Dynasty Chinese porcelain with scalloped rim, with wide broad cavetto, elevated the round sides; raised upon a foot base. The interior decorated with famille rose hand painting of centralized flower medallion surrounded with gilt overglazed Shou characters, leading to four gilt double-happiness at four directions, set over variegate stylized floral and flying Fu bats with auspicious symbols radiating toward central cavetto. All reserved against pale-turquoise-green underglazed ground. The exterior decorated with three colorful floral bouquets with plain white overglazed ground. Adorned with gilt overglazed bands along the scalloped rim.
Mark on base, a six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- characters mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing (1735-1796).
Dimension: 11-1/4" Diam. x 3-1/2" H
PROVENANCE:
From the collection of General Chen Qi (陳淇) (1912-2000), who styled himself as “Cangquan” (滄泉)and “Yuquanshanren”(玉泉山人), an artist, calligrapher, a prominent businessman and private antiques collector.
