Description
EXTRAORDINARY, Very Fine 18th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain, a shallow ovoid dish, finely potted in Quatre-foil lobed petal rim, elevated from short steep sides, with wide broad cavetto raised on four shaped squat legs. The central interior decorated with famille rose hand painting depicted an elderly sage and attendant within a garden landscape scene enclosed by correspondence Quatre-lobed cartouche; interspersed with dense of cobalt-blue underglazed floral sprays bordered with gilt overglazed band around the lips. The exterior rim having similar cobalt-blue floral sprays band. The composition is sophisticated and the decoration colors are simply a feast for the eye. This dish is a fine example of a masterpiece artwork during Qing Dynasty period.

Mark on base, a six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- characters mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing (1735-1796), and of the period.

Dimension: 6-3/8" L x 7/8" H

PROVENANCE:
From the collection of General Chen Qi (陳淇) (1912-2000), who styled himself as “Cangquan” (滄泉)and “Yuquanshanren”(玉泉山人), an artist, calligrapher, a prominent businessman and private antiques collector.

Condition
In EXCELLENT condition, over all. Some loss and faded on gilt overglazed around the outer rim; consider normal due to ages and wears.
