Organic sculpture that shows off the texture of the olive wood by its form
This as much interesting as pretty wood sculpture of the artist Nigel Ritchie provides testimony of the unity of nature and art. Carved from the natural shape of the tree, the sculptures are literally growing into the artistic form. The sculpture is placed on an iron foot and can thereby be placed anywhere. The sculpture consists of alternating concave and convex shapes, building an organic whole. Special feature is the beautiful grain of the olive wood.
The sculpture is signed and dated in hand-written inscription underneath on the sculpture ‘Nigel Ritchie 80’. The sculpture is besides minimal cracks due to age-dryness in very good condition with hardly any traces of wear. The dimensions are 57.5 x 20 x 16.5 cm (height x width x depth). (tm)
