Item Details

Description

A George II silver caster, the baluster form with pierced cover, together with a similar larger example. Hallmarked Samuel Wood, London 1749. Height of smaller example measuring 4 1/2 inches (11 cm), the larger measuring 6 inches (15 cm). Gross weight 6.7 ozt (211 grams). A/F. (2).

Condition

Along with general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing the casters displays some noticeable damage. The larger example in particular displays heavy dents also with solder repairs to the cover. The smaller example also with some dents and the finial lopsided. No visible engravings. Hallmarked to the underside only (not the covers) and appear distorted.
