Provenance:
Clayton Willis Estate
Vintage hand-carved Haitian frame
Although Jacmel remained his home, Byron joined Port-au-Price's Centre d'Art in 1955. He is renowned for the use of light in his works.
This lot is part of the Clayton Will Estate that has has been rescued from storage and although many are not in perfect condition or may require a new frame (due to age), to honor Mr. Willis we felt it was important to include these works in this sale. Starting prices reflect their condition, and when you look closely there are great finds!
