Rapkin, hand-colored in outline. (4to) 27x21 cm (10½x8"), bound in half brown morocco and pebbled cloth, gilt stamp design, gilt compartments on spine with gilt title, all edges gilt.

Allom's striking views of China, from the seedy opium dens to the grand palaces, the coastal fishing villages to the Great Wall, with depictions of torture, trades people, etc.

Some wear and soiling to binding with rubbing to extremities; some scuffing to gilt edges, some offsetting from plates, light scattered foxing, occasionaly affecting plate margins but illustrations generally clean, a nice solid copy; very good.
