HISTORIC BLACK TRANSFER-DECORATED STAFFORDSHIRE PLATTER, H 16", W 13":A historic black transfer-decorated Staffordshire platter. James and Ralph Clews. English, 1819-1836. An oblong platter having black and white transfer decoration titled "Newbury, Hudson River", depicting a horse-drawn wagon by a bend in the river with mountains in background, surrounded by a floral and scrolled foliate border. From the "Picturesque Views" series. With printed title and impressed maker’s marks on the reverse. 15 ¾" x 13".

Condition

With some minor yellow discoloration to platter visible on both sides, a couple minor chips to rim, and light surface wear and scratching. Overall in good used condition
