Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A beautiful mold made pottery bust of a young man with curled hair and his chest exposed; portraits made to show emperors as vibrant young men were popular in Imperial Rome. This bust is probably a small copy of a larger bronze statue and would once have been richly painted - some of the original pigment remains. Size: 3.35" W x 5.25" H (8.5 cm x 13.3 cm)
