SAMUEL OTIS
(1740 - 1814) American statesman, a framer of Massachusetts' constitution who also negotiated with Shays and in 1788 was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. A.L.S. with signed postscript, 2pp. 8vo., Boston, Apr. 27, 1773 to Charles Cushing. In part: "...I have a Mortgage upon a Mill of Thos. Moulton at George Town for fifty pounds...I have no great prospect of recovering anything...I have a great mind to take possession of the former if you or any responsible men...undertake it..." Fine.
