The central portion of the base has the British Royal Coat of Arms beneath a compass or sunburst inscribed with the year 1758.. Amen." framed by flourishes. The other side has a detailed map of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers with depictions of buildings, settlements and forts along the way, including Fort Edward, Fort Stanwyx, the Royal Block House, Germanflats, Saratoga, Schenectady and Albany, to name a few.
